As Chairman of the Elder Board for Mariners Church, I feel a tension to find a retreat venue that allows our group to stay focused on the work we have to accomplish while also presenting the opportunity for an enjoyable time of fun and team building. I was looking for something new and unusual for our hardworking team, a place that would inspire and refresh them. We chose Sierra Ranch Retreat as our destination and we had the time of our lives! My wife and I were given a room that was spacious, yet incredibly cozy. The crackling fireplace and the overstuffed furniture made it difficult for us to get moving in the morning! The community rooms were welcoming, comfortable and functional. But they were also decorated in a way that invited intimate conversations, and allowed for deeper contemplation and vision casting. The views of the surrounding forest were richly dramatic and the Ranch was orientated to take full advantage of the beauty from every window. During our break times, Sierra Ranch Retreat did a first class job of setting up activities that were unique to their location. We hiked the surrounding terrain, rode ATVs and snowmobiles, built a huge bonfire and sang every praise song we could think of at the top of our lungs! The Ranch staff was courteous and warmly accommodating, always remaining sensitive to the working atmosphere of our group. The meals were professionally orchestrated and very delicious. We had a full agenda to accomplish for our church and yet Sierra Ranch Retreat made our time away a true pleasure. We highly recommend this beautiful hideaway for your large and small gatherings. Thank you Sierra Ranch Retreat!

Over the last ten years, we have conducted several strategic planning retreats for our Board of Directors and staff at the Sierra Ranch Retreat. During those retreats we have been treated to wonderful hospitality, outstanding accommodations and an environment that is truly inspiring. Our Board of Directors governs an international organization and is made up of leaders from across the United States. The Sierra Ranch Retreat has met or exceeded every expectation.
The Sierra Ranch Retreat provides a unique environment, where the service and scenery, nestled in the Genesee Valley, combine to create an atmosphere where leaders, staff and governing bodies can retreat to focus on strategic direction and planning.

I wanted to take a moment and thank you personally for our beautiful experience while visiting the Sierra Ranch Retreat.
The setting is absolutely beautiful, with the lush pine trees, the beautiful meadows and streams and the towering mountains. We were pleased with how easy it was to get there from the Sacramento or Reno airport. The log lodge was exactly what we envisioned in a mountain retreat with its towering ceilings, large fire places and cozy furnishings.
Of all the amenities and activities, our family favorite was the rope swing over the lake and the beautiful ATV ride up in the mountains. All of us enjoyed the gourmet food; the meals were fantastic, and the luxurious attention to detail in each of our rooms will not be forgotten.
While all of that was certainly delightful, the highlight was the time we spent reconnecting with each other as a family and our time together with the Lord. It was clear from the onset that the focus of the staff was ensuring we had the opportunity to reconnect with each other and with our Lord, all the while, enjoying the 5 Star experiences.
On behalf of our entire family, thank you for one of the most enjoyable retreats we have experienced together in recent memory.

There is no exaggeration when I say that the week at Sierra Ranch Retreat will be a cherished memory of mine for the rest of my life.

The sweeping meadows, winding river, hand built split rail fences, the log home so intimately designed and built, renovated historic structures, all the toys one could ever dream of having, ponds waiting to be fished and acres of forested land that seems to go on forever. Thanks for sharing a lifetime of memories!
